Recode’s Kara Swisher has been following the tech scene for the past year, covering the world’s biggest tech companies and the people who run them.
Over the past few years, she’s worked on more than a dozen of Recodes best-selling tech features, including the Recode Codes blog, Recode Money, and Recode Technology.
She joined Recode in 2014 after nearly a decade at Time Inc., where she was a senior editor for business and technology.
In 2017, she was promoted to associate editor and joined the company’s staff as the site’s technology editor.
Over her time at Recode, Swisher led the company in its growth, becoming its chief technology officer.
In 2018, she moved on to join TechCrunch, where she became its first female editor in five years.
Over 20 years of covering tech, she has covered the likes of Facebook, Uber, Apple, Apple Music, Spotify, Netflix, Google, and Amazon.
Swisher was born in Chicago and grew up in North Carolina.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Wake Forest University.
